So....
Jeremy (unbelievably) is actually quitting his job at the airport!
And since he's worked there for 3 years and we've only
gone a handful of places (mostly just Denver),
we decided we were going to go all out and go to... Hawaii!!!
(NOT)
We got up to Denver just fine.
Then we tried our flight to Hawaii.
(flying standby, remember)
Didn't even come close to making it on that one!
So we tried again!
And again!
And again!
And again!
And AGAIN.
Over the course of two days... trying and trying...
It was not to be...
It was sad.
Truly.
But, we decided to make the best of it...
after all...
we had the best babysitters on earth at home!
(Jeremy's sweet sisters came all the way here, just to stay with the kids)
So, we found the only flight we could possibly get on.
San Diego, here we come!
(This trip is seriously getting funny, now)
We flew right into San Diego...
and into a giant fogbank.
(And 55* weather.
It was 60* in Colorado... LOL.)
That didn't leave the entire time we were there.
Gloom...Gloomy...Gloom...
And we couldn't get a car,
because we had one reserved in HAWAII.
Seriously???
So, back to the airport we went.
Picked up a tourist packet and found
the most beautiful hotel!
(a bright spot! yay!)
And we rode the city bus!
And ate at IN-N-OUT! Yes!!!
And we rode trolleys!
Even took a historical tour! Super fun!
And a taxi!
And we walked... a lot! Love Old Town!
And we had us a grand time in San Diego!!!
(even if nothing wanted to go our way...) :)
But to top off our mishap-ridden vacay,
All the pictures got erased from my camera.
Awsome.
You just can't help but laugh when life gets this ridiculous. :)

To seal the deal, we got separated on the way back,
and I spent an entire day,
and 1 1/2 good novels,
waiting for Jeremy at the Denver airport.
But he had fun...
meeting Tony Gwen.
(I guess some famous baseball player or something???) :)
Funniest vacation EVER!!! :)
At least I got to spend it with my best friend... :)

oh. my. gosh. !!! i'm so sorry; what a bummer. but you seem like an amazing sport about it all - i'm super impressed. maybe you'll go to hawaii another time. . .??? and not on standby!
I am so glad I am not the only one with that type of luck! I'm sorry about your trip, but I'm happy you can laugh about it. It makes for great stories :) Maybe another time you can come out to Hawaii... and visit us.
You know that you have a great marriage when you realize that a mishap-ridden vacation with him is better than being in Hawaii with anyone else.
You two are wonderful!
